5 Minute Friday: Dance

Today we’re linking up with Lisa-Jo at Tales from a Gypsa Mama for 5 Minute Friday.

1. Write for 5 minutes flat on the prompt: “Dance” with no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking. 2. Link back here and invite others to join in. 3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..

Dance.  Go.

My life.  Full of steps.  Spins, turns, unexpected twists.  Put it together and it turns into something beautiful.  Our life has sounded fast, busy, (mostly) fun, lately.  Two babies and a three year old.  Sometimes I think I know what God is planning and where he’s guiding us.  Other times, I feel swept away, wondering what he could be doing and why he asked me to take this on.  We have our youngest placement yet, a darling 10 month old with significant developmental needs.  We’ve been juggling appointments, specialists, therapists, social workers, and trying to squeeze in playdates and time at home.  Yet I know that God is working in and through us and our situation, especially in the heart of this sweet boy.  He may never remember us or these last few months we’ve loved on him.  I know we always will.

And yet I yearn for my time to slow down; embracing my ever-growing children.  Stealing moments to read stories and splash in the wading pool.  Snuggles (early!) each morning and bedtime kisses.  May we always take time to love.  My favorite dance these days is standing and rocking, singing sleepy worship songs, memorizing the feel of my sweet babies, snuggled up against me, thanking God for these days we’ve been blessed with.

Stop.
